Maritime R/C Racing is proud to announce the
2008 Off-Road Series!
The series will consist of races on diverse race tracks throughout the Maritime Provinces. Each track will be required to submit a request to be added to the schedule. Dates starting in May 2008 ending in October 2008. The current available dates are available on the 2008 Calendar. The dates will be updated as the dates are reserved for a specific track. Typically to allow for a break in between we will try to schedule races on an “every other week” format. Depending on track conditions, the first race could be as early as May 4th, 2008.
Maritime R/C Racing is not a sanctioning body. The rules are provided as a guideline to ensure fair racing and a safe environment for both racers and spectators. Technical inspections may occur if so requested by the track owner. If this is the case it will have to be identified in the race advertisements. It will be up to the racers to meet the guidelines for the classes they are participating in. The rules can be found in the Maritime R/C Racing Rules and Regulations document. Any questions, concerns or clarifications can be directed to mrcr@rogers.com. A few key requirements are to have a Maritime R/C Race at your track are;
- An electronic Lap Timing system is required. The system needs to provide individual lap time tracking as well as positioning for the finals. A printed report is also required to be posted at the end of each qualifier or main race. Maritime R/C Racing can provide and manage a Lap Timing system upon request. There will be a $50 charge for the system. To operate the Lap Timing system a power source will also be required.
- Each track will have to provide a “track official/director” that will work with the staff from Maritime R/C Racing during the race.
- Classes sanctioned by Maritime R/C Racing are listed below. Each class will have to adhere to the rules listed in the Maritime R/C Racing rules and regulations document. The classes are:
Monster Truck
Truggy
1/8 Buggy
1/10 Stadium Truck (Electric and Nitro)
Note: Other classes such as 1/5 scale (Baja 5b) can be run but will not be sanctioned by Maritime R/C Racing.
General safety rules for racers and spectators will apply.
Fees for each race, per class, will be a minimum of $10 with $5 to be kept by Maritime R/C Racing. This will be to cover Maritime R/C Racing operational costs and prize plaques awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher of each class.
Each track can, at their discretion, provide any additional prizes, payouts etc.
