Saint John Indoor Carpet Racing: 18/19 Winter 5

This is the 5th race of the 2019 winter season. With date as an odd number we raced counter-clockwise. We tried to make this layout with more sweeping corners and more relaxed corners to get the higher speeds up.

It was a small group of dedicated racers that came out. It made for close racing but was very difficult for marshals. We also had a visit from one of our founding club members, Jared Meade, who came out to see how the club has been doing since it started back in 2010. You can catch up on Jared’s activities here!

In this race Mark set his sights on winning the race. He moved his way into the lead early in the race and held his 1/2 track lead to finish first. Gregg and Jeremy had a close battle for the 2nd spot throughout the race. In the video Jeremy was working on a pass on the near left corner for many laps but couldn’t get one to stick. Gordon and Kyle has car troubles and that held them to 4th and 5th.
